Dear Students / Parents,

Following recent publicity surrounding Halton Transport, we are currently working to ensure that any disruption to travel to College is limited as much as possible, and therefore we have put the following arrangements in place.

Please take the time to read through this information.

This Week (Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th January 2020):

  • Friday 24th January – Bus update for this morning

    Buses 42,44A,46,47,48 & 49 are ASHCROFT’S coaches
Please look out for the number on the bus and support the drivers as they have not driven the routes before.

Buses 41A, 43, X43, and 45 are running as normal

Buses 39,40,41 and 44 are NOT running, if you can please use alternative routes, your Halton pass is valid on Arriva today.

  • All Halton Services are planned to operate as normal this week. However, they are experiencing operational disruption and we will endeavour to inform you by text if any services are not running as soon as we are informed.

We would advise that for the next two days you have a back-up plan for travel to and from College, which can include travel on Arriva services who will accept your current Halton student, pass see below.

  • From Thursday your current Halton Transport pass (when shown with your College ID card) will be accepted on ALL Arriva North West Services. If you need to travel with an alternative provider again you can purchase a ticket and bring it in to reception for a refund.

Next Week: From Monday 27th January:

Please keep hold of your current Halton Transport Pass and show this alongside you student ID to travel on all Arriva North West Services, College Contracted Services and any Halton Transport buses.

From Monday all College Services (39 through to 49) will continue to run on their normal timetable:

  • There are no changes to the timetables of the 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, x43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49 and Anthony’s Travel no.1
  • The buses will be provided by alternative bus companies, so PLEASE look carefully at buses as they arrive – they will clearly display the number of the College service in the front window.
  • You must continue to present your valid Halton Transport bus pass and College ID until Friday 14th February. During the next three weeks you will be issued with a pass for these services which you will need to show after the half term onwards.

Your Halton Transport pass will be accepted on all Arriva North West Services until Friday 14th February (Half Term):

  • Arriva services will accept your Halton bus pass from this Thursday until February Half Term, you must show your College ID with your pass as normal.
  • This is a temporary arrangement with Arriva until half term only.

Public Transport Buses currently run by Halton Transport (14, 17, 26, 26A, 61, 62):

  • We do not have any further information on the public transport services currently operated by Halton Transport. If there are going to be any changes we will communicate with you.

From Half Term onwards:

  • The FREE College services (buses 39 through to 49) will continue. We will let you know arrangements for passes and ensure you are able to get a pass to travel on these services before the half term break.
  • It is unclear what public routes will be running at this time and therefore we will let students know as soon as we have clear information before the half term break.

If you have any further questions related to the information above please email buses@cronton.ac.uk.
