The Centre of Excellence for Performing Arts students at Cronton Sixth Form have blown away a sold out audience at the Cronton Playhouse theatre with a spectacular performance of the classic Broadway musical, A Chorus Line.
Set on the bare stage of a Broadway theatre, the exciting musical tells the tale of 17 Broadway dancers auditioning for a place on a chorus line of eight people. The talented Performing Arts students stepped into the roles for a two-night rendition of the famous production.
Some of the leading roles included Daniel Hibbert playing Zach, Maisie Wellock as Lori, Nicole Richardson as Judy, Megan Davies as Diana and Rebecca Leech as Kristine.
Programme Manager of the Centre of Excellence for Performing Arts and Director of A Chorus Line Matt Plant said, “This has been a wonderful year for the Centre of Excellence for Performing Arts with the launch of our new theatre and we are so happy to have ended with this fantastic show!
“It has been a privilege to work alongside the Professional Dance Programme for this production and the team effort is only enhanced by the exceptional work ethic of this wonderful group of students. I am incredibly proud of all of the students that have taken part and I can’t wait for our next performance of Legally Blonde in November.”
The Centre of Excellence’s next production ‘Legally Blonde’ will take place at the Cronton Playhouse theatre on Thursday 28th November and Friday 29th November from 7.30pm. Tickets are £7.50 and can be purchased by calling the College box office on 0151 257 2032.
